Macbook Air in the UK
It’s hard to keep up with Apple sometimes. Our childlike excitment at the iPhone, OS X Leopard and the new iPod Touch has barely started to calm down yet and they go and announce another explosive release - The MacBook Air.
The new MacBook Air is thin. Very thin. In fact it’s claimed to be the world’s thinnest laptop - Steve Jobs literally pulled it from a manilla envelope on the official launch! It’s also chock full of high spec features such as 2GB RAM, Core 2 Duo processor and built in i-Sight webcam, and of course the MacBook Air is absolutely dripping with style.
MacBook Air - Design
Did we already mention how thin the MacBook Air is? Well it’s probably worth repeating it… at a size 0 it ranges from just under 2cm at its thickest point to a mindblowing 4mm at it’s thinnest! The standard model weighs 1.3kg and sports an uncompromised 13.3inch widescreen. An intelligent backlit keyboard is a welcome addition to the MacBook range - great for trains, planes and graveyard shifts. The built-in sensor illuminates the keyboard at different brightnesses depending on the ambient light, thereby saving battery too.
The touch-control design that proved itself so intuitive on the iPhone and iPod Touch is now available via the MacBook Air touch-pad: you can rotate, zoom, pinch, swipe, flip and more.
